El Husseini: The message of the Riyadh Forum is spiritual to close the gap, build bridges of convergence, and activate the commonalities between followers of religions.

The Secretary General of the Arab Islamic Council, Mohamad Ali El Husseini, participated in the Forum of Common Values ​​among Followers of Religions organized by the Muslim World League in Riyadh, in which a group of moderate and influential religious leaders in the world participated.

 El Husseini stressed in his intervention that the convening of the forum confirms Riyadh’s position as a beacon of moderation, and as the banner bearer of love, tolerance and peace in the world, considering that the participation of a large number of religious leaders in the forum made it an exceptional historical and spiritual event.

He pointed to the success of the forum in highlighting the common values ​​among followers of religions, the most important of which is recognition of the other and respect for the culture of different peoples, their religions and nationalities within the framework of cultural diversity. The vision was also united around the necessity of confronting extremism and exclusion in all its forms, as they constitute a threat and a danger to all human societies.

El Husseini stressed stimulating human values ​​and commonalities, promoting the discourse of moderation and openness, and putting an end to hate speech as a condition for eliminating manifestations of extremism and the resulting violence, terrorism and wars, noting that the forum is a peace initiative and a safety valve to preserve global stability that puts an end to the discourse of civilizational clash.

El Husseini stressed the importance of adopting responsible practical steps to activate mechanisms of coordination and joint cooperation between religious leaders across the world, allowing them to launch a new phase in which they have the greatest role in raising awareness and enlightenment in their societies and environments, guiding young people and saving them from falling into the nets of extremists who push them to kill innocents and strike security and world peace.

El Husseini concluded, stressing that the message of the Riyadh Forum is spiritual to activate human values ​​and unify efforts to destroy the chasm and build bridges of convergence between followers of religions.
